On Tuesday 19th June Hereford Cathedral School invited the Year 5 students from their Junior School to experience a day in the life of the senior school. A range of stimulating lessons and fun competitive lunch time activities were arranged by members of staff from the senior school. The whole day was coordinated and managed by the senior school's Lower Sixth, who welcomed the day's activities as light relief after their AS examinations, under the watchful eye of Miss E Sage; the senior school's Primary School's Liaison Officer. The Year 5 pupils were introduced to Spanish - a new modern language. Phrases in Spanish were taught in an innovative manner with pupils using the senior school's interactive whiteboards to practice what they had learnt. In Ceramics, the Year 5 pupils had the opportunity to make and design pots. The Screen Printing lessons produced some very creative designs based on the pupils’ initials. Pupils saw the world through a huge bubble in “Human Bubbles”, they made Potty Putty in Chemistry and acted out Greek mythology in Drama. There was also the chance to take part in some leadership tasks after lunch on No:1 lawn and a Treasure Hunt rounded off a very successful day.
